Phillip Fleming: Questionnaire Responses 2026

Democratic Candidate for NYS Assembly District 131

Geneva resident Phillip Fleming brings years of experience as a community advocate, public speaker, writer, and organizer to his campaign to represent District 131 at the NY State Assembly. The district contains portions of Ontario, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Chenango, Broome, and Seneca counties.

Fleming is employed as a teacher’s aide at Geneva High School and holds teaching assistant certification. Priorities for his campaign include education, behavioral health, immigration rights, economic development, human rights (e.g. LGBTQ+, civil rights, abortion rights), and community engagement.

Our simple, multiple-choice questionnaire can be used to gauge potential elected officials’ positions on issues they’re not often pressed on, especially at local levels. In responding to our questionnaire, Fleming indicated he strongly agreed with all the positions FLXJP outlined. He also provided detailed comments for many of the issues.
